"A Shining Ray of Talent"
When did you start to get interested in voice acting?
I was the type of kid that wanted to not just act in a play, but write it, direct it and cast all the neighborhood kids. I’d carve out the perfect role for each personality. We’d make our own sets, design costumes and put up the show in our backyard. So basically not much has changed since becoming an adult.
I’ve somehow managed to turn my passions into a career as a voice actress for TV, film and video games while also producing and hosting a video podcast for my YouTube Channel called Alicyn’s Wonderland, where I share weekly episodes interviewing some of the top talent in the animation and video game world. It’s a wild world collaborating with fun and funny folks and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Full story >

Victoria G Interviews Alicyn Packard by HelloVictoriaG | July 22, 2022
Victoria G: What inspired you to become a voice actress?
Alicyn Packard: When I was still in college, pursuing acting, hosting and the usual bevy of on-camera career paths, I attended an autograph signing of some of my favorite voice actors. Now I had already been hosting a weekly college radio show, but I hadn't considered acting in animation as a career path. That was such an aha moment. I got to chat with some legends like Fred Tatasciore and Keith Ferguson and I thought to myself, "these are the nicest people in the entertainment business!" At that point I began to focus on voice acting and a few years later, I booked my first video game role.
VG: Who are your voice acting inspirations?
AP: Oh! SO many! Rob Paulsen is one I absolutely adore and is such a huge inspiration to me. When he's not doing voices for Animaniacs, Ninja Turtles or Pinky and the Brian, or he inspires people to live a life of gratitude. Full story >

Four of Toluca Lake’s prominent voice actors gather for a roundtable discussion on their community and their craft.
While Toluca Lake is blessed with talented residents in many walks of life, particularly from the entertainment industry, we’re especially struck by the abundance of celebrated voice actors who make their homes here. Their careers may be based behind the scenes, but they’re familiar faces in the neighborhood, whether strolling and shopping on Riverside Drive or making frequent appearances at community events. To find out what makes the area an epicenter for voice talent and learn more about this lesser-understood side of acting, we interviewed four local vocal powerhouses. Full story >
