Writing

Alicyn’s writing career began in the third grade when she created pandemonium in her class by inspiring the other students to follow in her footsteps, churning out multi-page short stories for the weekly vocabulary assignment. Her teacher Miss Chekulious, was very pleased... Until she wasn’t.

At her core, Alicyn is a storyteller, who still aspires to inspire. Her credits include eight episodes of the Mattel-produced animated series, Barbie: Dreamtopia with partner and young-adult author, Dana Middleton. She also wrote for the animated pre-school series, Poppy Cat for PBS/Sprout and has co-written lyrics for Season Two of Space Racers for which she also voices the character Robyn.

In addition to writing for animation, Alicyn has created a series of comedy sketches for the web, which she wrote, produced and starred in. She is currently developing a musical comedy pilot with comedienne Steph Garcia.
